Rempower celebrates its first anniversary

MIDLANDS automotive supply chain company Rempower is celebrating one year in business.

The company, owned by Arlington Industries Group, operates across three sites in Coventry, Birmingham and Derby, employing 244 people, more than 80% of whom have some form of disability.

Rempower is marking its anniversary today with an open day for all customers and suppliers.

Also attending will be Nicolas Hamilton, who suffers from cerebral palsy. He is Lewis Hamilton’s younger half-brother.

In-spite of his disability, Nicolas has successfully proved himself in the highly competitive Renault Clio Cup series.

Rempower has continued to deliver on an initiative sponsored by the department of work and pensions, which was realised with the original Remploy brand – to provide on-going sustainable employment for disabled and disadvantaged people.

During the last year it has the increased the size of the workforce from 203-244 and seen orders and the client base grow.

Arlington Industries Group chairman David Roberts said: “Rempower Automotive has proved to be an excellent addition to our global business.

“We see it as a unique business, representing the very best in corporate social responsibility, and advanced manufacturing and assembly.

“The Rempower business has also opened up many exciting expansion opportunities for us and all will be revealed in 2015.

“Rempower Ltd benefited from a highly trained and experienced workforce and, moving forward, we have introduced an apprenticeship scheme to ensure that the workforce continues to grow and maintain the current high standards.”
