Cushman & Wakefield beefs up industrial team

PROPERTY consultancy Cushman & Wakefield has boosted its industrial team in Birmingham by appointing Ed Kennerley as a surveyor.

Kennerley becomes the third member of the firm’s industrial team in Birmingham, which is headed by David Binks.

The new appointee joins from Louis Taylor, a firm of general practice surveyors in Stoke-on-Trent.

He said: “I was looking to work for one of the bigger industrial firms in the country and the opportunity to join a global player such as Cushman & Wakefield was a good one.”

Binks said: “The industrial market in the Midlands is growing, and this appointment reflects not just that, but the current level of new instructions that we are handling here in Birmingham.”

 

Senior estimator joins Stepnell

MATTHEW Brooks has been appointed by Rugby-based construction and civil engineering company Stepnell as senior estimator.

Brooks, joins the company from Kier Construction Eastern where he was an estimator.

His previous career has included working as a senior quantity surveyor with Kier and as a quantity surveyor for Bracknell Forest Borough Council.

Stepnell managing director Mark Wakeford said: “I am delighted that Matthew has joined our team in Rugby.

“He brings significant professional expertise and will play a key role in our continuing delivery of client-focused, cost-effective construction solutions to the very highest standards.”

Denny Maguire to head up GBR Phoenix Beard Residential management team

GBR Phoenix Beard Residential has enhanced its residential management offering with the appointment of Denny Maguire as new head of block management.

Maguire’s career spans 25 years in the residential property sector. Following 15 years as sales director of Stirling Ackroyd, she went on to co-found Birmingham letting and estate agency Maguire Jackson.

More recently she has been involved in residential development and consultancy, driving forward developments such as Ansty Court in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

She said: “I have been extremely impressed with GBR Phoenix Beard Residential’s growth in block management, and by the strength and diversity of the client base.

“The timing of this opportunity is perfect for me, and I am looking forward to working with the team here to build on the success already achieved in a relatively short time span.”

A Victor Powell adds surveying bulk

BROMSGROVE-based property agents A Victor Powell has been boosted by the arrival of chartered surveyor Peter Chesshire.

The appointment comes as part of growth plans for the firm which was the subject of a merger with long established commercial property consultancy John Truslove in October 2013.

Chesshire joined from Henley-in-Arden agents John Earle.

His role will be to support director Adrian Powell in residential agency sales, lettings, mortgage valuations, and the management of the firm’s residential and commercial property portfolio.

He said: “This is clearly a very good time to be joining A Victor Powell, a long established and well-known name in Bromsgrove and north Worcestershire.

“I am very pleased to be working alongside Adrian who has such extensive knowledge and experience of the local market.”
