West Midlands Business Masters Awards 2015 launched

THEBUSINESSDESK.COM is today launching the West Midlands Business Masters Awards 2015 to recognise excellence, entrepreneurship, growth and enterprise amongst the region’s corporate community.

The awards, which will be held at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on the evening of Thursday June 11, will build on the success of last year’s event and once again the winners will be announced at a high-end black-tie dinner.

There are 11 awards again this year, including popular categories covering manufacturing and exporting – both split into two to cater for larger businesses and SMEs – and innovation.

There are also awards for successful performance by listed companies and for businesses running apprenticeship schemes.

The Pride category, which rewards efforts in the CSR field, is always popular as is the Ambassador category which rewards a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the business sector and regional economy over the last year.

This was won last year by Birmingham Hippodrome chief executive Stuart Griffiths for his success in bringing thousands of visitors into the city and for his efforts in linking the worlds of culture and business.

All Masters entries – and you can nominate your own business or someone else’s – will go in front of our panel of judges and the shortlists, from which the winning entries will be announced on the night, will be made public soon after.

Andy Coyne, editor of TheBusinessDesk.com in the West Midlands, said:
“Last year was the first time the Masters awards were held in the evening and it was a great success.

“What is different about these awards – their USP if you like – is that we interview all the shortlisted firms on the evening.

“The feedback we get from those who have attended in the past is that this is their favourite part of the event because it is interactive and fast paced and also because it allows them to learn something about the companies that are up for an award.

“In the past few years some of the most dynamic businesses in the region have prospered in our awards and we fully expect that to be the case again this year.

“We look forward to receiving some excellent entries.”
