Serious Games founder launches new venture

A VIRTUAL reality specialist is launching a new venture with a £500,000 investment in a 10,000 sq ft headquarters.

Telford-based woote has been created by Tim Luft, the founder of the Serious Games Institute in Coventry.

The two storey building will give firms and individuals a taste of the most advanced virtual reality experiences currently available.

The Hadley Park East site offers customisable meeting, training and conferencing facilities with the added excitement of hands-on time in the company’s custom-built VR simulators.

The woote experience is also open to groups and individuals who would like to try their hand at cutting-edge VR by booking time in the simulators.

Luft, who was recently appointed a UK Trade & Industry ambassador, said: “The power and sophistication of computer processing is making really immersive virtual reality a genuinely new frontier so we’re positioning ourselves at the forefront of this.

“VR lends itself brilliantly to many types of training and the chance to give people valuable experiences before they find themselves in real world situations.

“What’s even better though is that we can easily share this with our local business community.

“Because we build our own simulators, which include our patented designs, we can open our doors at Hadley Park for them to come and use the meeting and learning facilities and to tie that in with the VR experience – which can be a much more preferable approach to team building than running around cold and wet in the woods.”

As well as a dedicated virtual reality suite with futuristic pods for driving and racing experiences, a realistic golf simulator and a shooting range with an array of full size and weight weapons, woote’s base offers a modern board room, learning space, break out rooms and a meeting area for up to 70 with separate catering facilities.
