Johnson Fellows targeting top retailers after getting Parkgate gig

JOHNSON Fellows has been appointed joint agent on the retail-led Parkgate scheme in Solihull.

The £85m scheme in Stratford Road, Shirley, is anchored by an Asda supermarket and has attracted the likes of Pizza Express, Wetherspoons and 99p Store.
 
Birmingham-based Johnson Fellows – which is something of a retail specialist – has been appointed by landlords Helical Retail and Coltham Developments to secure occupiers for the remaining vacant units at the 195,000 sq ft scheme.
 
Around 75% of the units are already let or under offer.
 
Chris Gaskell, retail agency partner at Johnson Fellows, said:“We have a great track record of working alongside Asda and attracting retail occupiers to sites where they are the anchor tenant.

“We are currently working with ten sites anchored by Asda and that experience and expertise was a major attraction to the landlords of the Parkgate development.
 
“There has already been a great start at Parkgate and it has attracted some leading retailers. Our focus will be on attracting A1 retail occupiers and we will also be talking to restaurants.
 
 “Retailers will be attracted by the fact that there is a major Asda superstore with high footfall right next door, along with free parking for three hours.”
