New permanent base for Brammer following Coventry closure

A MANUFACTURING firm which closed down its Coventry tooling subsidiary last year has established a permanent presence at nearby Stoneleigh Park.

Brammer PLC, a supplier and distributor of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul products, will now base its European division at the Warwickshire estate, moving into a new building there.

The operation, which looks after the European tools and general maintenance division, first located to Stoneleigh Park last August, initially occupying a temporary home whilst a redundant building on site underwent a major refurbishment to accommodate its needs.

Nigel Banks, Brammer’s European commercial director tools & general maintenance, said: “This new facility gives us the central focal point to help and support all of our European businesses operating in 23 countries.

“Our European Tools & General Maintenance business is growing at an impressive rate and we are targeting an improved performance on the Continent in 2015.

“This building gives us the flexibility to adapt as we expand by providing space across three floors that can be easily modified for alternative use.”

In February Brammer reported a near 50% dent in its profits. This was partly a result of costs of £5m linked to the closure of its Buck & Hickman National Distribution Centre in Coventry.

It was in June 2014 that Brammer announced it was to close the Coventry subsidiary, which employed 185 people.

In September it said around 30 people would be employed at Stoneleigh Park.
