MG expands dealership network with strategic new outlet

BIRMINGHAM-based MG has expanded its dealer network still further, opening a new outlet in Scotland.

Frasers in Falkirk is considered a strong partner for the company, especially as it lies in a strategic position.

The new dealership sits on a 6.5-acre site at Camelon, which puts the dealership just over 30 minutes drive time from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Frasers has operated on the site for nearly 30 years as part of The Archers Group.

The firm is already making big plans to market MG in a campaign throughout the summer using local radio, newspapers and the social media.

Frasers was started by the fathers of the present directors, David Wishart and Andrew Dickson and it remains a family-run business.

David Wishart said: “The new MG’s are fantastic value for customers and we were very keen to be up and running as a new dealership very quickly. Some marques have very complicated and demanding start-ups with big investments demanded and very stringent requirements for the new dealer to meet.

“We were delighted with the straightforward MG philosophy which basically means as soon as our demonstrators arrive we can start trading.”

Frasers is already planning an official opening, probably for early June.

MG has opened close to 30 new dealerships in the past 16 months as part of a strategy to expand its nationwide coverage. It is looking to double this number as quickly as it can, especially with new products set to become available next year.
