Mazars invites female entrepreneurs to meet for tea

ACCOUNTANCY firm Mazars has launched a new business forum targeting top female entrepreneurs and professionals.

The new forum gets under way with a Ladies Afternoon Tea event at Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel on Friday, June 12. The firm said the event was already attracting some of the most talented female business people and advisers simply by word of mouth.

Launching the quarterly afternoon teas, which are scheduled for different locations around the West Midlands, organiser Adele Raiment said: “Breakfast meetings and black tie evening dinners are not always accessible or convenient for female entrepreneurs and we wanted to create something that was exclusively for women who run and advise businesses.

“As well as providing a hotbed of ideas and advice over tea and cakes, no bad thing in itself, we will also be putting something back into the community.

“Everyone invited is asked to bring a raffle prize and the charity will give a short presentation on its work and how we can help.”

For the first event, organisers have chosen St Mary’s Hospice in Selly Oak.

Ms Raiment, who is an entrepreneurial business and private client adviser at Mazars in Birmingham, is coordinating the event with colleague Lucy Hogg.

Ms Hogg said: “There are still a limited number of places left, so if you think you are a successful entrepreneur or are just starting out in business and feel that you could benefit from a wealth of experience and a really strong support network, we would love to see you at this inaugural event.”

The event runs from 2.30-5pm and attendance is £25 per person. To book a place, email lucy.hogg@mazars.co.uk or call 0121 232 9618.
