Rugeley maintenance business snapped up by northern rival

SPRAYBOOTH Maintenance Services, based in Rugeley, has been bought by Lancashire’s Beta Group for an undisclosed amount.

Spraybooth Maintenance Services (SBMS) was founded in 1994 by Chris Whitehouse, who is remaining with the company for two years in a consultancy role following the sale to Bacup-based Beta Group.
 
Whitehouse and his engineers have more than 40 years’ combined experience in the spray booth service and maintenance industry. SBMS focuses on the car repair and body shop market.

The acquisition takes Beta Group’s annual turnover to more than £5m.
 
The takeover adds £300,000 to its annual revenues and extends its existing maintenance operations, which involve spray booth, facilities and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning activities.
 
SBMS is Beta Group’s second acquisition in the sector in less than two years, following its takeover of North East firm Spraytherm in October 2013.
