Springboard strengthens research team

SPRINGBOARD Corporate Finance has strengthened its research team with two new appointments.

Anisha Patel, who has joined as an Analyst, is a recent graduate of Coventry University, and brings corporate finance experience gained from a placement year with Clearwater International.

She will support the Springboard team across all of its M&A activity.

Daniel McCartney has also joined as an Analyst. He is an undergraduate at Loughborough University and will focus on providing detailed market and sector information to the team.

ThinCats beefs up loan management with new appointment

PEER to peer lender ThinCats has strengthened its loan management capabilities with the appointment of Jill Sandford as Head of Risk and Recoveries.

She joins the firm on secondment from Baker Tilly, where she is a Director of Restructuring and Recovery.
 
In the newly created role, Ms Sandford will be responsible for managing ThinCats rapidly growing loan book which is now approaching £120m and expected to double every six months. Her focus will be on ensuring the recoveries process maximises returns for investors, processing loan documentation, overseeing risk and compliance and training for sponsors.
 
Ms Sandford has over 30 years’ experience in restructuring and is JIEB qualified. She is also experienced in running training workshops for advisers through the NACFB.
 
Kevin Caley, managing director of ThinCats, said: “Jill has a wealth of experience to bring to this post and we are delighted to welcome her to the team. Her experience will improve our ability to manage recoveries and will fit well with the need to recruit and train new sponsors. I am looking forward to working with her to strengthen our team.”
 

ACCA role for Begbies Traynor manager

Louise Everill, manager, Begbies TraynorA MANAGER at the Birmingham office of Begbies Traynor has been appointed chair of the ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) West Midlands network.
 
Louise Everill, pictured, who joined Begbies Traynor in 2006, will have a two-year tenure in the post.
 
Her role will be to chair the regional panel which represents members’ interests in the West Midlands and to continue to raise the profile of the ACCA in the region.
 
She said: “Having been heavily involved with the ACCA since becoming a member seven years ago, I was thrilled to be asked to take on this role.

“The network has done some tremendous work over the past few years and being based at the beating heart of the professional services community in Birmingham I feel I am well placed to continue that and bring my own ideas to bear.  Organising events will play a key part of that, as will ensuring members have a voice across the region and beyond.”

Her role at Begbies Traynor involves managing a broad portfolio of cases for the firm.

Jason Hinkle, head of networks and courses ACCA, said: “Louise has been involved with ACCA in the West Midlands for a number of years and has been an integral part of the members’ network. It’s no surprise that her fellow members have elected her as chair of the network for the coming year.
