Dealmaker Catalyst appoints new chief operating officer

BIRMINGHAM-based Catalyst Corporate Finance has brought in Paul Slattery as its new chief operating officer.

He joins from Bedfordia Group where he was finance director of Befordia Automotive prior to the business being sold.

Following the sale, he took a consultancy role to assist with post-sale activity, including completion accounts, audit and statutory accounts.

Slattery is a chartered accountant, having trained at PwC.

In 2004, following eight years at Sytner Group, he joined Bedfordia, owner of three BMW/Mini franchises which have seen significant growth over the past few years.

Andy Currie, managing partner at Catalyst, said: “I am delighted that Paul has joined us. He will provide excellent support to our business as we continue to grow and his skills will allow the partners to focus on originating and delivering deals across the UK.

“Paul will be a valuable member of our management team and his appointment follows a significant period of growth for Catalyst during which we have recruited five new deal makers, expanded our debt capital markets team and moved into much larger premises in London.”
