Removals business cleans up after new funding deal

A REMOVALS business with a base in Birmingham is set for further expansion after securing a new funding deal.

Britannia Bradshaw International Removals & Storage is set to expand in the North West and the Midlands after acquiring competitor, Britannia Goodwins Removals, in a six-figure funding deal financed by The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Britannia Bradshaw International Removals & Storage is a commercial, domestic removals and storage business based in Trafford Park, Manchester, although it also has an operation in Birmingham.

By acquiring the family-run Britannia Goodwins Removals business, the firm will be able to expand its presence in Staffordshire and South Cheshire, an area in which it is currently unrepresented.

The deal sees Britannia Bradshaw International Removals & Storage retain all of Britannia Goodwins staff in Stafford, taking total employees across the group to 85.

Mike Andrews, appointed managing director of Britannia Bradshaw in late 2012, said: “It is really exciting to be part of this expanding business which is showing impressive growth.

“We have shared a 20-year relationship with The Royal Bank of Scotland and they have sound knowledge of our business which has helped us to continue expansion geographically, increase our headcount and achieve greater financial results.”

Andy Matley, Senior Relationship Manager at RBS added: “Mike Andrews is already showing signs of driving business growth and their latest acquisition is testament to the £5m combined annual turnover he is predicting. Mike is certainly helping to put Britannia Bradshaw International Removals & Storage on the map and we wish him well as he consolidates both businesses and achieves greater things to come.”
