eg solutions hopes new products will spearheard growth

STAFFORDSHIRE back office software provider eg solutions is looking to the launch of two new products to help support growth during the second half of this year and beyond.

The Dunston-based business hired The View from The Shard in London to mark the launch of the two new additions to the group’s product suite: eg forecasting and eg mobile.

eg forecasting enables organisations to use eg’s unique back office work management functionality to proactively plan for anticipated workloads, taking into account the complexity of multi stage processes with multiple inputs and hand offs. In addition to predicting workloads, eg forecasting has been designed to forecast likely service level achievements, based on current or potential performance levels, as well as the resources and skills required to achieve them.

The development of the software was part-funded by Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, through its Smart scheme. Innovate UK offers funding to SMEs to engage in R&D projects in the strategically important areas of science, engineering and technology that will in turn help to support jobs.

eg mobile extends the reach of the company’s software to planning teams, remote workers and operational managers out in the field; the demand for which is being driven by a growing need to allocate work to and manage the performance of an increasingly mobile workforce. It also provides alerts and notifications on KPIs that affect performance such as approaching service-level agreement deadlines and breaches for operational managers. eg mobile is an extension of the eg operational intelligence software suite.

Both new products have been developed in-house at the firm’s headquarters, following a significant investment in R&D.

Commenting, Elizabeth Gooch, CEO of eg solutions, said: “An increased focus on the need to plan effectively and manage an increasingly mobile workforce means there is greater demand on the traditional back office function. The introduction of eg forecasting and eg mobile demonstrates our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers and exploiting new opportunities to apply our market leading back office optimisation software.

“We’re really excited by the new products and we hope that our customers will be as well.”

The company has expanded its workforce by between 30 to 40 people during the development phase, although some of the new staff are engaged in sales and marketing activities.

The firm is hoping the new products will be key factors in helping it achieve its target of £20m turnover by 2017.

The firm is also looking to capitalise on new contracts, which have seen it break into new sectors such as local government, utilities and retail.

It also has seen recent success abroad, with new contracts in South Africa, the United states and Australia. The US contracts – for a bank – is a significant development as it is the first contract won by the group in that country.
