New UKTI regional director for the West Midlands announced

CHRISTINE Hamilton has become government export body UK Trade & Investment (UKTI)’s regional director for the West Midlands.

She replaces Paul Noon, who held the role for the last three years. Noon has now taken on a new role focused on enterprise and innovation at Coventry University.

Hamilton, who was deputy regional director for UKTI West Midlands, has wide ranging experience advising businesses on export opportunities.

She started her career 27 years ago as an international trade adviser, providing export advice to small businesses.

This included a secondment to the commercial team at the British Consulate General in Boston, USA.

Hamilton has also worked in the Government Office West Midlands in roles involving ministerial support and European funding.

She returned to international trade work in 2004, becoming deputy regional director for UKTI West Midlands in June 2006.
