West Midlands Business Masters Awards 2016 launched

THEBUSINESSDESK.COM is proud to launch the 2016 West Midlands Business Masters Awards.

Celebrating excellence in all aspects of business life as well as enterprise and entrepreneurship, the awards on June 16 at Birmingham’s Edgbaston Stadium will also focus on entertainment, with a high calibre host and a session from a well-known sports star topping the bill.

The identities of the guest speaker and the host will be revealed in due course, alongside the independent judges.

Andy Coyne, editor of TheBusinessDesk in the West Midlands, said: “On the back of our most successful ‘Masters’ in 2015, we are extremely pleased to be launching the 2016 awards at such an early stage.

“With new categories and an emphasis on entertainment, we’re sure June 16 will be a fantastic evening for all guests, finalists and sponsors. The West Midlands is an outstanding region for business and we look forward to celebrating some of the fantastic success stories we’ve seen over the last 12 months on the night.”

We launch with one sponsor on board already. Accountancy and advisory firm MHA Macintyre Hudson is supporting the awards for the third consecutive year.

Reflecting the diversity of the region’s economy we’ve added a number of new categories to the awards, with Professional Services Firm of the Year and Lifestyle (for the retail and leisure sector) joining the established awards for:
Fast Growth
Innovator
Newcomer
Employer of the Year
Exporter
Listed Business
Pride/CSR
Manufacturer
;
and the prestigious individual title of West Midlands Ambassador.

Around 400 people are expected to attend the awards, which will begin with cocktails and culminate in a post-event party.

Blue chip companies including Jaguar LandRover, Aston Manor Cider and Sertec and leading business figures such as former Birmingham Hippodrome boss Stuart Griffiths and Hadley Group managing director Stewart Towe CBE are among the former winners of the Business Masters Awards.

This year’s Manufacturer (SME) award was won by Birmingham based-coffee machine maker Fracino.

Its MD Adrian Maxwell said: “It is tremendous to be recognised for our achievements at a formative period when we are marking unprecedented growth in international trade.

“Awards such as the West Midlands Business Masters reinforce that, as a manufacturer, we’re not working in a silo and that the inroads we are making are both acknowledged and appreciated by our peers, experts and industry watchers in the West Midlands region.

“The awards likewise bring additional positive spin offs including increased awareness and publicity.”
