Synectics stays on board as Stagecoach contract renewed

WARWICKSHIRE security and surveillance group Synectics has been awarded a contract extension with Stagecoach, one of the UK’s largest bus operators.

The Studley-based company, a leader in the design, integration, control and management of advanced surveillance technology and networked security systems, has had a 13-year partnership with Stagecoach and will continue to supply, install and maintain CCTV on the firm’s 8,500-strong fleet of vehicles in Europe.

In the last three years, Synectics has equipped 1,660 new vehicles with the latest on-vehicle CCTV solutions and maintained existing systems across a growing fleet.

The extended agreement will see Synectics continue to support Stagecoach for another year, up to 31 March 2017, and will cover a number of system installations on new vehicles operating across the UK and in mainland Europe.

Paul Webb, chief executive of Synectics, said: “This contract extension demonstrates our ability to meet the complex technology needs of large bus and coach fleets.

“Our deep transport sector expertise combined with our technical capabilities help us anticipate emerging requirements to make sure we have the best solution to hand when it’s needed.

“We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Stagecoach.”

Stagecoach owns 49% of the shares of Virgin Rail Group which operates the West Coast Main Line through the West Midlands.
