New editor for TheBusinessDesk.com

ALEX Turner has been unveiled as the new editor of TheBusinessDesk.com in the West Midlands.

He replaces Andy Coyne who is stepping down after more than four years in the role.

Turner joined TheBusinessDesk in November 2014 as its Yorkshire editor.

Prior to that he worked on the business pages of the Liverpool Echo and Liverpool Daily Post newspapers.

He also spent three years as the operations director of education business Ambitious Minds.

He said: “This is a great time to be joining TheBusinessDesk.com in the West Midlands.

“There is so much going on in Birmingham and the wider region at the moment and I’m really looking forward to covering stories reflecting the major projects that are being developed, the manufacturing-led growth of the economy and the whole devolution issue, amongst other things.

“We’ve got some great new ideas about how to develop our news-led service and I’m keen to meet as many of you as I can to talk about these in the weeks and months to come.”

Coyne is leaving to pursue writing and consultancy projects.
