Seven-figure funding deal puts medical centre in rude health

A SOLIHULL medical centre has completed a move into custom-built premises after utilising a seven-figure financial package.

The funding from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has enabled Croft Medical Centre to secure a new permanent home on Pomeroy Way, Chelmsley Wood. The move comes after the practice was forced to operate out of a temporary site following the demolition of its previous clinic to make way for a new school.

The 1,316 sq ft two-storey site is larger than the old centre, enabling the practice to introduce a number of consulting rooms. The extra space will enable the practice to work with a clinical commissioning group to offer more healthcare services for the community.

With an existing patient list of more than 10,000, the facility will also allow the practice to increase the number of local residents it serves, while providing added cost benefits.

The site follows the formation of a property development company made up of three partnership GPs – Dr Mike Bosworth, Dr Oliver Denton and Dr Alicia Baker.

Veronica Parkes, practice manager at Croft Medical Centre, said: “The move into brand new facilities has been a key objective of ours for a number of years, and we’re pleased that we’ve finally realised this ambition with the help of Lloyds Bank.

“This leaves us well placed to offer more services to more patients than ever before, underlining our ongoing commitment to providing first rate healthcare to people throughout Chelmsley Wood.”

Jon Saltinstall, senior healthcare banking consultant at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Our used its specialist sector knowledge to work with the management at Craig Croft Medical Centre to bring this built-for-purpose development into Chelmsley Wood.”
