Ed James company set for liquidation hearing
A COMPANY run by Birmingham radio presenter and personality Ed James is set to be liquidated after the business ran into difficulties.
A creditors meeting has been convened in Droitwich today for Ed James Ltd, the PR and events company run by the Heart FM presenter and his partner and fellow director, Denise Mickle.
She said: “We have been experiencing problems. We have lost a number of contracts and been a victim of bad debt. We have also had a company go under on us.
“Once we have had the meeting we should have more information about what happens next.”
The business, which is not in administration, represents the Ed James Group, the website of which was out of action today. The PR company has had various high profile clients and represents the likes of Marco Pierre White’s restaurant in The Cube. It has also represented automotive dealer Guest and Bournville College in Longbridge.
Mr James is one of the most high profile personalities in Birmingham. In addition to his radio work, he is also chairman of the Birmingham Press Club, the oldest press club in the world.
Creditors of the business have been invited to attend the hearing at the St Andrews Town Hotel, which is being organised by Justin Brown, of Droitwich-based MB Insolvency.
Mr Brown said he was unable to comment on the matter until after today’s meeting.
