Changing of the guard at Black Country Chamber

THE Black Country Chamber of Commerce has said farewell to its outgoing president after his two-year tenure came to an end.

Ninder Johal is being replaced at the head of the business organisation by chief executive of Wolverhampton-based Paycare, Kevin Rogers.

Mr Rogers, who takes over on April 1, said: “I would like to thank Ninder for his hard work over the last two years, he is going to be a hard act to follow. Thanks to Ninder we have stronger governance and greater democratic accountability to members.

“We have been talking about opportunities to drive growth further into the Black Country business base and I have some views on how we can improve productivity to above the national average. I am really looking forward to getting involved with, and meeting even more, of the great businesses we have in chamber membership.”

Ninder Johal said: “I have had a great time over the last two years and met a lot of fantastic chamber members. I am constantly surprised by the wide range of businesses in membership and the worldwide opportunities they are securing on a daily basis.

“I would like to thank all the chamber members and staff that have supported me during my time as president and wish you all every success. We are striving towards our goal of doubling the size of the Black Country economy and I am delighted to be handing over the presidency to Kevin Rogers; he will be a great asset to the chamber and will drive us towards wider engagement and business wins.”
