Ed James company set to be struck off Register

A COMPANY run by Birmingham radio presenter and personality Ed James has been officially liquidated.

Companies House has issued a notice saying that Ed James Ltd will be struck off the Register of Companies and dissolved at the end of two months from March 8 unless it receives just cause why it should not.

Official public record publication, The Gazette said that at a general meeting of the business on February 25 a special resolution was passed stating that the PR and event company, due to its liabilities, could no longer continue to trade and that it should be voluntarily wound-up.

A creditors meeting on the same day confirmed the appointment of Mark Bowen, of MB Insolvency in Droitwich, as the liquidator.

The Heart FM presenter’s partner and fellow director, Denise Mickle had said that last month that the company, which was registered at 16-18 Greenhill Road, Halesowen, had been experiencing problems with bad debt and one of its clients going under on it .

The PR company had various high profile clients and represented the likes of Marco Pierre White’s restaurant in The Cube. It has also represented automotive dealer Guest and Bournville College in Longbridge.

Mr James is one of the most high profile personalities in Birmingham. In addition to his radio work, he is also chairman of the Birmingham Press Club, the oldest press club in the world.
