Acquisition is just the ticket for theme park firm

BIRMINGHAM-based theme park and attraction ticket specialist, Attraction World, has strengthened its operation after a strategic acquisition funded by a new finance agreement.

The company has purchased well known leisure brand ‘Day out with the Kids’ for an undisclosed sum. Finance was supplied by Barclays.

The Attraction World business specialises in the provision of tickets to more than 3,000 attractions in 60 countries and includes Thomas Cook, Tui, Mid Counties Co-operative and Barrhead Travel among its travel industry clients.

In addition, the company operates two direct to consumer brands, www.attractiontix.co.uk and www.floridatix.com.

The business was established in 2006 by managing director Paul Stobbs. Since its inception the company has seen unbroken year on year revenue and profit growth and today employs over 60 staff from its Kings Norton base, helping over one million customers each year pre-book worldwide attractions.

Mr Stobbs said: “This acquisition supports our strategic objective of becoming the UK’s primary site for visitor attractions. Day out with the Kids currently has 100 million page views per year and it’s our aim to further enhance this offering by being able to provide families with the opportunity to not only research their day out but be able to book their tickets. In addition, we plan to create a community forum where families can share ideas and feedback on their experiences.”

Martin Perry, Relationship Director at Barclays said: “We have worked with Attraction World since the company was founded and understand the strategic direction in which Paul wants to take the business. This acquisition complements the business and will enable them to further expand.”

Attraction World holds an extensive range of industry awards, including ‘Best Ticket Provider’. ‘Best Agent Friendly Brand’ and ‘Best Holiday Essentials Provider’.
