Shopping centre to go on the market for £85m

A SHOPPING centre which opened two years ago has been put up for sale for £85m now that it has been fully let.

Asda, Pizza Express and Poundland are among the 30 tenants at Parkgate, in Shirley. A buyer is now being sought for the 195,000 sq ft centre, which is on Stratford Road, the main road through Shirley.

The centre was the result of five years of development.

Ed Purcell, of Cushman & Wakefield’s retail team, said fully letting Parkgate had been a great achievement.

“Thirty lettings have been achieved,” said Mr Purcell. “This shows fantastic perseverance in a challenging market, and great cross selling between departments.”
