Drayton Manor Park creates 450 seasonal jobs

DRAYTON Manor Park has appointed more than 450 jobs in its latest seasonal recruitment drive.

The theme park has re-appointed 288 staff from last summer but taken on an additional 168 new people.

The bulk of the new employees were taken on following a recruitment day at the park, near Tamworth.

The event attracted more than 150 people who were taken on a tour of the park and got to meet current employees who shared their experiences.

The recruitment drive was backed up by a social media campaign, direct mailshot and via word of mouth.

This resulted in more than 500 people submitting applications to work at the park this summer.

Applications were received from those as young as 16, to those who are already in their 60s.

William Bryan, managing director of Drayton Manor Park said: “I am excited about our main 2016 season, as this is the most successful recruitment drive that we have had in recent years. We managed to fill all seasonal positions within our first drive. In fact, due to the calibre of candidates, we also have a reserve list of potential employees that we could tap into.”

This year, the park is also offering a number of guaranteed minimum-hours contracts which it said was intended to give the new employees the peace of mind of knowing that they are getting regular hours and pay throughout the season, which runs until October 28.
