Victoria calls time on potential acquisition

WORCESTERSHIRE carpet manufacturer and retailer, Victoria, has announced it has pulled out of talks to acquire Lano Carpets.

It has also said it is in talks with businesses both at home and overseas regarding fresh expansion.

In a short statement to the London Stock Market, the Kidderminster-based business said: “Victoria remains focussed on its strategy of pursuing acquisition opportunities that will create shareholder wealth. Discussions are already underway with suitable businesses both within the UK and overseas.”

Carillion CEO appointed new NED

THE group chief executive of Wolverhampton-based Carillion, Richard Howson, has been appointed to the board of John Wood Group.

The appointment as a new Now-Executive Director becomes effective on May 12.
Mr Howson also become a member of the Nomination and the Safety, Assurance and Business Ethics committees.

The international energy services company provides a range of engineering, production support and maintenance management services to the oil, gas and power generation industries worldwide.
