Traffic Alert: Long delays on M6 south after accident

DRIVERS using the M6 southbound near Birmingham have been warned of long delays to this morning’s rush hour because of an accident and fuel spillage.

There is one lane closed and queuing traffic on the southbound carriageway between Spaghetti Junction (J6) and Castle Bromwich (J5).

Highways England has said it is unlikely the situation will clear until at least 9.30am and there are currently predictions of 90 minute delays to normal journey times.

Drivers are trying to leave the motorway at Junction 7, Great Barr and congestion is currently back to Junction 10a, the exit for the M54.
