City’s largest nightclub creates 120 new jobs

THE company behind Birmingham’s biggest club is set to bring 120 new jobs to the city, it has announced.

Following a £1.4m investment by operator Deltic Group, PRYZM will open in Broad Street on June 17.

The 2,500-capacity venue is complete with a main arena featuring the latest light and sound technology.

This will be complemented by Curve, a more intimate room with DJs playing the latest R&B chart tracks.

There is also a disco room, called Vinyl, which will feature a flashing dance floor.

Fronting PRYZM are Peter Cro and Ric Harpin.  Mr Cro is no stranger to the city and is returning after eight years having managed clubs throughout the UK, including Cardiff and London.

He said: “Birmingham is a fantastic city with a vibrant scene and our club will bring a new dimension, giving people in (the city) and beyond a world class club experience.

“We have great plans for the launch weekend, which we’re keeping under wraps at present but it promises to be a crowd pleaser.”

The club is now recruiting the 120 staff needed for a variety of full and part-time positions, from bar staff to hospitality and sales assistants.

“We are looking for people who enjoy life, have a great positive attitude and want to be part of our exciting new venture.  We have a full training programme for the right candidates,” said Mr Harpin.

PRYZM Birmingham is the sixth to open in the UK; the first was Bristol, followed by Brighton, Cardiff, Kingston upon Thames and Leeds.  PRYZM Nottingham is due to open on July 1.
