Galliford Try wins £40m university contract

CONSTRUCTION firm Galliford Try has been named as preferred bidder for a £40m contract to build a 770-bedroom accommodation for Coventry University.

Developer Regents Godiva has chosen the firm to build the major city centre scheme at Godiva Place, which will include support facilities and parking for students on the site.

Galliford Try’s building division is also in pole position for a £62m student accommodation contract with Newcastle University.

Peter Truscott, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Newcastle University and Regents Godiva to deliver such significant schemes.

“Higher education is a key sector for us and our success here in being selected for these contracts is a reflection of the capability we have demonstrated in producing high-quality accommodation and housing for a range of clients across the country.”
