Electric car manufacturer launches newest site

Tesla at Touchwood

SHOPPING destination Touchwood in Solihull is set for a new tenant as electric car manufacturer Tesla moves in.

Tesla already test drove the retail hub last year as a pop up and is now taking up permanent residence in the Crescent Arcade, next to fashion retailer Hollister and Apple.
The 5,187 sq ft site will house two vehicles, including the Tesla Model S, what the firm says is the first all-electric saloon car.
Lend Lease Retail Partnership (LLRP), a fund managed by Lendlease, announced the deal with Tesla, as it boosts the lineup at Touchwood.
Pandora, Goldsmiths Boutique and Five Guys have all moved in over the past 18 months, and Next has expanded into a 25,000 sq ft site.
Guy Thomas, head of retail asset management at Lendlease, said: “Touchwood’s approach to leasing has always been about building on its existing retail mix of quality independent and internationally renowned brands.
“Tesla is a fantastic addition to Touchwood’s experience-led offer and reflects our approach of ensuring that we continue to provide an exciting retail line-up.”
