£200m-turnover business puts pen to paper on its succession plans

THE Premier Paper Group has made a number of senior appointments as it builds its management team for its next stage of development.

The £200m-turnover company is based in Minworth, Birmingham and employs around 400 people.

Earlier this year managing director Graham Griffiths stepped up to chairman and subsequently group finance director Courtney Candler has become a non-executive director and group supply chain director Richard Minns has retired.

Dave Allen, who was previously chief executive at Paperlinx, will officially become managing director tomorrow. Other new appointments include logistics director Chris Evans, supply chain manager Frank Herbert and commercial manager Matt Ingram. Financial controller Simon Taylor has been promoted to group finance director.

Also joining the board as a non-executive director is Malcolm Cook, who was BDO’s senior corporate finance partner in Birmingham.

Mr Griffiths said: “These changes, which are very much part of our succession and future planning process, have enabled us to build a strong and balanced senior team, with experience from both inside and outside of the paper and print industry.”
