Commercial property firms advise on major warehouse deal

COMMERCIAL property agents in Birmingham have advised on a major warehouse deal that has seen food delivery company, HelloFresh acquire a 237,000 sq ft unit in Oxfordshire.

The warehouse building at Central M40 Banbury will facilitate the company’s UK expansion and it will begin occupying the site later this summer.

As well as the UK, HelloFresh has operations in mainland Europe and the United States.

However, it needed the new premises in order to improve its deliveries in the South East and Midlands markets. The firm will use the facility for assembly of fresh food packages, enabling faster deliveries.

HelloFresh joins Prodrive Motorsport as a tenant of Central M40. The automotive firm took possession of its new headquarters facility in the adjacent building last year. Both buildings benefit from good access to the M40 motorway.

Cushman & Wakefield represented Hellofresh in the deal, while Colliers International, CBRE and White Commercial Chartered Surveyors represented db symmetry and British Airways Pension Trustees Ltd.

Further expansion of the site will take place in due course after detailed planning consent was  secured for the remaining buildings.

db symmetry was formed as a UK joint venture through the purchase of a 60% holding in Barwood Developments by clients advised by Delancey; a specialist real estate investment, development and advisory company.  The remaining 40% shareholding is controlled by the executive management team.
