Midlands law firm enjoys strongest year to date

A MIDLANDS law firm has smashed its financial targets for the third year in a row.

Coventry-based Band Hatton Button increased its turnover in the year to April 5,2016, resulting in the firm enjoying its most successful year to date.

March was the firm’s most successful month ever, partly due to a buy-to-let rush as landlords hoped to beat the stamp duty increase.  The peak saw the firm’s Residential Property Team record a 144% upswing.

Mark Moseley, managing director, Band Hatton Button, said: “The past twelve months has been our best trading period ever.

“There has been particularly high demand in Coventry’s property market, driven by landlords looking to snap up property for the city’s booming student population and in part due to the stamp duty increase that was introduced in April.

“This isn’t to say our commercial and residential property teams have been the only ones busy – I am delighted that we have had high work levels across the entire firm recently with every team putting in sterling performances.”

The strong performance is aligned with a raft of promotions and appointments intended to support the firm’s growth strategy.

A dozen new members of staff have joined in the last financial year and the firm has also promoted a number of staff, with a further four lawyers promoted on the first day of the new financial year.

“The promotions we have made in the past 12 months are all well-deserved and have rewarded those who are at the right point in their careers, whilst our new recruits have all settled into their respective teams well and have really hit the ground running,” added Mr Moseley.

The firm is looking to maintain its strong progress during the current financial year, with Coventry’s growing reputation as a property hotspot helping to provide the impetus.
