GBR Phoenix signs on to support terminal care charity

PROPERTY consultancy GBR Phoenix Beard is to partner with terminal care charity Marie Curie.

Marie Curie has nine hospices across the UK, including three which are local to GBR Phoenix Beard’s offices in Birmingham, Leeds and London.

GBR Phoenix will be raising money to support the Solihull, Hampstead and Bradford  hospices and fund nurses who care for patients in the local communities.

The firm is planning a number of fundraising activities during the year, starting with the Blooming Great Tea Party, which takes place between June 20-29.

The firm will be hosting tea parties in Birmingham, London and Leeds offices on Friday June 24.

Simon Farrant, managing director of GBR Phoenix Beard, said: “I am delighted to announce our national partnership with Marie Curie – our teams are highly motivated to be giving something back to a national charity which provides much needed support for people with terminal illnesses and their families when they most need it.

“We have been impressed with the professional and proactive support shown to firms like ours by Marie Curie’s fundraising team, which will be an enormous boost to our efforts.”

Marie Curie nurses provide in-home care as well as through their hospices, which offer specialist round-the-clock care.

It costs £7,321 to provide 24 hours of care at Marie Curie’s West Midlands hospice in Solihull. GBR Phoenix Beard has set fundraising targets to support the charity’s ‘Pay for a Day’ campaign at both Solihull and Hampstead hospices.

GBR Phoenix Beard’s Corporate Social Responsibility team comprises Nick Yates and Sophie Yates in Birmingham, Sarah Ballans and John Sexton in London, and Catherine Godfrey in Leeds.
