Pension fund acquires new headquarters for property firm

WORCESTERSHIRE commercial property consultancy GJS Dillon has expanded to help support growth plans.

The firm has opened a new office in Droitwich, which will act as its headquarters.  The chartered surveyors will retain its current offices in Bromsgrove and Worcester.

GJS Dillon directors’ pension fund acquired the freehold of the 2,550 sq ft offices at 7 Roman Way Business Park for an undisclosed sum and will lease the premises back to the firm.

The new office will house the firm’s accounts, management and valuation teams and other central functions, and allow GJS Dillon to improve service provision in the Droitwich, Wyre Forest, and Pershore/Evesham commercial property markets, which it said were particularly strong at present.

“We have always offered a comprehensive commercial property service with unrivalled geographical coverage throughout Worcestershire and along the M5 and A38 corridors,” said managing director John Dillon.

“Droitwich and the office on Roman Way were carefully chosen for our new HQ and will help us to improve our service and our access to clients.”

In the past 12 months, GJS Dillon has advised on a number of key property transactions in Worcestershire, including two sites for Waitrose – each with a different landowner.

It has also helped acquire more than 100,000 sq ft of off-market commercial premises for local office, manufacturing and distribution companies.

On the commercial agency side of the business, the firm has sold or let in excess of 150,000 sq ft of industrial accommodation and over 80,000 sq ft of office accommodation.
