Motor dealer announces details of West Midlands expansion

THE new owner of West Midlands-based motor dealership, the Colliers Group, has launched the recruitment drive to support its expansion in the region.

Essex-based Jardine Motors Group completed the deal to acquire Colliers on Thursday; the deal heralds the creation of 70 new jobs.

Many of the jobs will be created at the new Land Rover dealership the group is developing in Wolverhampton.

The new site is due to open in August and the firm said there were a full range of positions available at all levels of the dealership including apprentices, technicians, sales advisors and service advisors.

Already with a strong presence in the region, such as Audi in Halesowen, Wolverhampton and Tamworth – Jardine has purchased the Jaguar and Land Rover sites from Colliers Group in a move that sees the group’s dealer portfolio increase to nearly 80 sites, eight of which are located in the Midlands.

Clare Martin, Group HR Director for Jardine Motors Group, said: “We’re excited that our plans for further growth are taking place in the Midlands. We have a clear vision to be the best motor retailer as judged by you and aim to offer the best working environment for our employees.

“The automotive industry is booming with huge growth potential, which ultimately allows us to offer a world of opportunities for people who want a progressive career. With a great emphasis on team work, identifying individual potential and investing in employees’ future development, we encourage and support our staff to be the best they can.”
