Single price retailer expands Midlands presence with new deal
SINGLE price retailer Poundworld has enlarged its Midlands presence by signing up for a new unit in Derby.
The retailer, featured in the BBC reality series Pound Shop Wars, is to take space at Real Estate Investors’ Southgate Retail Park.
The retailer, which operates more than 300 stores across the UK and employs more than 6,000 people, has signed a ten-year lease for 4,259 sq ft at £42,590 per annum.
Ian Clark, senior asset manager at Birmingham-based REI, said attracting such a large national operator was a feather in the site’s cap.
“This confirms our view that the scheme is well positioned and continues to trade well,” he said.
The deal means the retail park is now 100% occupied. Other tenants include Lidl, Gym 4 All and Deeley Properties.
