UK Mail successfully integrates new hub

LOGISTICS group UK Mail has said the move to its new hub in Coventry has been completed successfully, with high service levels being maintained throughout the integration.

The group was forced into the move when its former hub in Birmingham was the subject of a compulsory purchase order due to its location along the route of the scheduled HS2 high speed rail link.

In a trading update for the period April 1, to June 30, 2016, the group said: “We have made a solid start to the current financial year, with overall performance for the first quarter in line with our previous expectations.

“The move of our second hub has been successfully completed, with very high service levels maintained throughout the period.  We continue to make good progress with our plans to improve the efficiency of our operations.

“The group remains in a sound financial position.”

The Coventry relocation was financed with the aid of a compensation package agreed with the Department for Transport.
