Construction firm secures spots on university’s £100m framework

STEPNELL has been appointed to Oxford Brookes University’s £100m construction framework to upgrade the university’s campus facilities over the next four years.
The construction programme is part of a significant £130m, 10-year estate investment plan, which will see the University refurbishing and redeveloping many of its facilities and buildings across its campuses.
Tom Wakeford, joint managing director of Stepnell, said the investment programme “will significantly enhance the University’s campus facilities”.
He added: “This appointment reflects Stepnell’s extensive experience in undertaking complex building and refurbishment projects for the higher education sector.”
The Rugby-based construction company is the only contractor appointed to the framework with a place on all three lots covering three bands of project values from below £2m to more than £5m.
Sue Holmes, director of estates and facilities management at Oxford Brookes University, added: “Oxford Brookes University looks forward to working with Stepnell as part of our framework as we deliver the initial phases of our exciting estate investment plan.”
