Speculative development is ‘huge vote of confidence’

REDDITCH’S first Grade A industrial unit to be speculatively built since the recession eight years ago has been described as a “huge vote of confidence” in the town.
The Acanthus Park warehouse is a 50,400 sq ft development by Hamdon Gate, and follows the pre-letting of a 110,000 sq ft industrial warehouse to logistics firm AMCO Services (International).
Ben Truslove, a director of property agents John Truslove, said: “The Acanthus Park development is a first for almost a decade and another example of how attractive Redditch is to those who need to be in the centre of the country and require great communications. It is a huge vote of confidence.”
The facility, which is expected to appeal to logistics and distribution companies, would be home to up to 50 jobs from a single occupier.
Existing occupiers on Ravensbank Business Park, of which Acanthus Park is part, include Intier Automotive, Johnson Controls, Heller UK, Lear Corporation, St Ives, John Lewis and the SP Group.
