Refurbishment project of Grade II-listed office building completes

The reception area of Baskerville House

REFURBISHMENT work on the lobby area of Grade II-listed Baskerville House in Birmingham has been completed.
The building, next to the Library of Birmingham in Centenary Square, is shortly to become home to Network Rail’s staff in what was one of the largest office deals in the city this year.
The project, which was designed by Birmingham based interior architects Monteith Scott and carried out by fit out specialist Overbury, began in April 2015.
It includes new revolving entrance doors, a relocated reception desk to create a more welcoming approach for visitors and a separate route for occupiers.
Danny Parmar, business development manager at Overbury, said: “Baskerville House is a landmark building in the heart of Birmingham. It already offers prime office space across six floors, but thanks to Monteith Scott’s brilliant design and the work of our experienced fit out team, the building now has a modern reception and lobby to match.”
Monteith Scott has a long-standing relationship with Baskerville House, having carried out refurbishment work earlier this year on the offices of Marketing Birmingham.
Its managing director Alison Monteith said: “Key to our design at Baskerville House was creating a new space befitting the modern, high quality office space throughout the rest of the building. However, we were also keen to ensure that the new fit out complemented the iconic art deco style of the original design.”
