Glassdoor recently put together a list of the best jobs in the UK by measuring and combining three key factors: number of job openings, salary and career opportunities rating. These were the ones that stood out across all three categories. Will you be suddenly much happier of your career choice?

20. Consultant
Any good at providing advice in a particular area like accountancy, law or marketing? You might want to consider this job role for yourself as the average salary for a consultant is an impressive £41,700 with a good career opportunity rating of 3.5 out of 5.

19. Business Development Executive
Years ago this job role would be classed as sales, however the role has become quite a popular choice in recent years. The average salary is £25,000 but with over 2,000 job openings, you can take your pick of which company suits you best.

18. Accountant
This is definitely a role you should be considering if you love numbers and the world of finance. The career opportunity score is a fairly good 3.1, which means with a little hard work, you would soon be raking a promotion in. We’re sure you will cope with a comfortable £32,000 average salary until then mind.

17. Brand Manager
Up for the challenge of creating a lasting impression? Love keeping up with the latest advertising and marketing trends? This is your kind of job then and the average salary of £45,000 isn’t one worth complaining about either. Get your skates on though, there are only a little over 600 job openings for the role.

16. Sales Manager
If you like being the one in charge and are excellent at selling, managing a team of sales representatives could be right up your street. You can be fussy with the career choice too, with over 11,000 job openings in the UK and an impressive salary of £37,500.

A solution architect’s job typically involves selecting the most appropriate technology for a problem by functional analysts and describing it through architecture and design artefacts. Sound complicated? Best get your head around it if you fancy being on an average salary of a whopping £63,500.

If you’re any good at matching skills to an appropriate job for candidates and clients, this could be the job for you. The average salary is only £22,000 but with over 7,000 job openings and a career opportunity score of 3.8, you’ll be running the company within a year or so!

Recruitment managers tend to bring in an average salary of £43,000 and the role comes in at 4.3 for career opportunity, meaning that the possibilities could be endless if this was your job.

Fancy maintaining a company’s relationships with clients and customers every day? You can take your pick of over 5,200 job openings and be happy with an average salary of £35,000. However, the career opportunity score comes in at 3.2, so you will need to be grafting to get higher.

11. Marketing Analyst
If you have excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyse and communicate information, this particular role could be your cup of tea with an average salary of £30, 225. There are also over 2,300 roles out there to apply for and with a career opportunity score of 3.7, you’ll be working your way up to management in no time.

10. Software Engineer
If you feel like IT and everything digital is your calling in life, you should consider taking this role on. With over 23,000 job openings currently out there and an average salary of £40,000, you would be mad not to take your chance with this job.
