Buoyant first half for Tipton and Coseley

THE Tipton and Coseley Building Society has reported a significant increase in the number of mortgage applications and completions for the first half of the year, compared to last year.

Between January and June, the Tipton’s mortgage applications topped £54.86m, compared to £38.29m during the same period last year, an increase of 43%. Half-year mortgage completions in 2016 totalled £35.91m, compared to £21.73min 2015, up more than 65%.

Richard Newton, the Tipton’s chief executive, said: “The economic outlook remains challenging so to achieve such upbeat figures is a great achievement.

“We’ve helped many of our customers get onto the property ladder as a result of our competitive mortgages, which includes our new 100% Family Assist and Shared Ownership mortgages, and we’ll continue to work hard to widen our product range.”
