Software company relocates to larger offices after expansion

A FINANCIAL services software provider is relocating to larger offices in Solihull after strong growth.

Phoebus Software is taking 15,000 sq ft on the third floor of Lansdowne Gate in a deal managed by Birmingham-based chartered surveyors Johnson Fellows, who also advised on sourcing the new offices and is overseeing the fit out of the space.

Phoebus has seen sustained growth in the last 12 months, with a number of new staff joining the team, which now stands at over 90 employees – up from just 70 employees a year ago.

Founded in 1989, Phoebus Software is a leading solutions provider to banking, building society and lending sectors. Its software supports clients in driving operational and commercial efficiencies.

The new office space includes room for further expansion and additional staff in the coming months. The company is expected to move into its new offices in September.

Currently undergoing fit out, the new Phoebus offices will include a wellbeing room, brainstorming zone, writable walls and a coffee bar, with a key focus on staff wellbeing.

Its current headquarters is just a short drive away at Radcliffe House, Blenheim Court, to the west of the town.

Paul Hunt, managing director of Phoebus, said: “Phoebus has grown so significantly over the last year it was vital for us to find quality offices that could cater not only for our existing staff but also those that we plan to bring into the business over the next few years.

“We chose the new building at Lansdowne Gate in Solihull because it is three times larger than the space we have available in our current building and it provides us with the flexibility for more unique ways of working, such as collaborative working spaces, break out areas as well as private space areas for those who need to concentrate or have private meetings.”

Charles Warrack, head of office agency at Johnson Fellows, said: “Solihull is an increasingly popular destination for businesses looking for value outside of the Birmingham market and well located close to the M42 and Birmingham Airport.

“We’re very happy to have been able to secure this space at Lansdowne Gate in a competitive market.”

British Airways Pension Fund, the landlord at Lansdowne Gate, was represented by GBR Phoenix Beard, now part of Savills UK.

John Griffiths, of GBR Phoenix Beard, said: “Phoebus took the last remaining space in the building, resulting in 100% occupation before completion of the refurbishment. This is a real testament to the underlying strengths of the Solihull town centre office market.”
