Traffic Alert: Shed load causes long delays on Midland motorway

DRIVERS using the M6 around Birmingham are being warned of long delays following a lorry shedding its load on the carriageway.

One lane is currently closed on the southbound carriageway between Junction 6, the exit for the A38M and Birmingham city centre, and Junction 5, Castle Bromwich.

Delays are severe and Highways England has warned conditions are unlikely to  clear until 5.30pm. In the meantime drivers have been advised to avoid the area if possible.
