THE recent growth in Solihull’s commercial property sector has handed a £35m boost to office fit-out specialist Overbury.

In the last four years the firm has completed 14 projects along the M42 Corridor and in Solihull town centre.

The firm’s Birmingham-based team has delivered more than 400,000 sq ft of office space at a range of buildings across the region.

Projects completed include schemes for major occupiers including National Grid, LRQA, West Midlands Housing and RWE NPower. The team has also worked on behalf of leading investors including such as BlackRock and IM Properties.

New tenants moving into the area recently include Phoebus Software at Lansdowne Gate, West Midlands Housing on the Birmingham Business Park, and RLC at Trinity Park.

Michele Clifton, account manager, OverburyOverbury account manager Michele Clifton (left) said: “We have a great track record of delivering excellent workspace at office buildings throughout the M42 Corridor and Solihull town centre which is recognised as a very important business region.

“Our team has completed a wide range of projects, from small to very large, for firms who understand the importance of creating office space that encourages collaborative and creative working, and promotes wellbeing. Often, we have carried out refurbishment of office space for landlords and this has led to gaining fit-out contracts from the new tenants.”

She added that the signs were the market would continue to stay strong for some time to come.

“The market will continue to grow in popularity and we hope to work with those companies moving into the area and others that are relocating locally,” she said.

Last year saw strong activity for the office market along the M42 corridor, with total activity in Solihull town centre and throughout the area’s business parks reaching 489,687 sq ft, ahead of 2014’s total of 419,951 sq ft.

A large amount of the activity was completed in Solihull town centre, including the 46,000 sq ft taken by National Grid at Lansdowne Gate. Interest in the Solihull and M42 area is predicted to continue to increase with the proposed delivery of the HS2 Interchange Station.
