Specialist manufacturer doubles in size after new funding deal

WARWICKSHIRE silicone components manufacturer, Artel Rubber Holdings has completed the construction of its brand new production facility.

The 18,000 sq ft scheme in Alcester has been funded by Royal Bank of Scotland to enable the firm to continue its growth and meet rising demand. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Located on Springfield Business Park, the building is twice the size of the company’s previous home in Bidford on Avon.

Owned by directors Simon Lavin and Jacques Commeny, Artel is one of UK’s leading silicone components manufacturers, supplying businesses in the automotive, rail, defence, marine, F1, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Mr Lavin, executive director of the firm, said: “In recent years we have achieved significant growth which meant that we had begun to outgrow our existing premises.

“Given the strength of the local manufacturing industry and the demand for industrial sites, we struggled to find a property that would meet our existing production needs and provide space to accommodate the business in the future as it grows.

“As a result we decided to construct our own purpose built facility which we couldn’t be happier with. The new premises are ideal and will meet our needs for the foreseeable future.”

He said securing funding for self-build projects had been difficult to find but the support the firm had received from the bank was critical in getting the project over the line.

Adam Smith, Senior Relationship Manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “The new premises are fantastic and I am pleased that we have been able to support Artel Rubber Holdings to make this investment into their future. Building their own facility was definitely the right move for the company and the property will allow them to continue to drive growth and increase production.”
