Construction firm on track to double turnover after funding deal

A WOLVERHAMPTON construction firm has created new jobs and is on track to almost double its annual turnover after winning its first civil engineering contract.

Trinity House Construction, based in Slade Heath, specialises in masonry projects for schools, hospitals, prisons and office blocks across the UK.

The business has just won its first civil engineering contract with construction services company, Carillion Civils, to work on the A45 railway bridge in Solihull. The win has created five new jobs, adding to the firm’s 85-strong workforce.

The working capital facility granted by Lloyds Bank has enabled the firm to sustain cash flow while pressing for new contracts. As a result, it is set to almost double its annual turnover to £4m by the end of 2016.

Sean Harriman, managing director of Trinity House Construction, said: “We have seen steady growth in the sector over the past three years, as businesses have more money to fund construction projects. Winning a civil engineering contract is a great stepping stone as a key growth area for the business.

“Lloyds Bank has been a huge help, and working with the team has ensured we have the funding in place we need to support the long term plans of the business.”

Oliver Dallaway, relationship manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Trinity House Construction has a strong business plan, and has extended its sales in to other sectors at the right time.

“Our team’s in-depth understanding of the construction sector has allowed us to help firms recognise challenges and opportunities in the sector.”
