Restaurant set for reopening after £400,000 investment

A SHROPSHIRE restaurant has undertaken a major recruitment drive to enable it to open on schedule.

Four Corners World Buffet at Telford’s shopping and leisure scheme, Southwater has undergone a £400,000 facelift in preparation for its grand opening on Friday September 2.

Sham Uddin and his wife Laura, who have bought the restaurant and invested in the revamp, have created four full time posts and 10 part-time positions.

Mr Uddin, who is a full time paramedic, and his wife who is a full-time payroll manager, have also secured all of the jobs for employees of the former restaurant Mimosa.

The couple, who live in Telford, had originally wanted to set up their own restaurant on Southwater when the development first opened but had originally missed out on the unit.

The new restaurant will be offering Chinese, Indian, Italian and Mexican cuisine but has no connection to Mimosa.

Mr Uddin’s brother Amin will be managing the restaurant on behalf of the couple.

Sham said: “The re-design has gone very well and we are really excited about the grand opening.”

The restaurant has tried as far as possible to recruit its new members of staff locally.

“We want passion, enthusiasm and people who want to get up and go to work and take pride in every aspect of their job and the service they provide. Every member of staff needs to be representative of what Four Corners is all about,” he added.

The restaurant will include a number of ‘live stations’ where chefs will be cooking the food in front of the diners and also an a’la carte table service menu.

Shaun Davies, leader of Telford & Wrekin Council – which owns Southwater, has welcomed the independent restaurant to the development.
