Challenger bank launches first of its regional network in Birmingham

SHAWBROOK BANK has launched a Birmingham business centre, the first of a regional network it plans to open in the next six months.
The challenger bank was founded in 2011 as a savings and lending bank for SMEs and individuals.
The Midlands centre will be led by Nick Leitch, who has previously headed regional operations for Seneca and Endless.
Mr Leitch said: “There is a huge opportunity, with the breadth and depth of the group’s capabilities, to grow its presence and relationships in these markets.”
His appointment is part of Shawbrook’s aim to use local specialists who understand the market and sector their business customers are operating in.
Tim Hawkins, who will lead the national Business Centre network said: “Increasingly key stakeholders and clients want a holistic approach to providing solutions together with access to senior local relationships and Nick will help us bring the bank’s offerings closer to our clients and markets to meet this need and demand.”
