Pennycuick Collins appointed to project manage expansion of leading JLR supplier

BIRMINGHAM-based chartered surveyors Pennycuick Collins has been appointed to help with the expansion of a leading Jaguar Land Rover supplier.

Sertec has selected the firm to project manage its second major expansion this year.

The chartered surveyors had already completed the manufacturer’s multi-million-pound expansion at its factory in Gorsey Lane, Coleshill, so it could accommodate four new presses, significantly increasing its manufacturing capability in response to demands from its leading customer.

Now Adrian Roddick, partner at Pennycuick Collins, has been appointed to oversee the construction of a new raw materials store, planning consent for which has already been secured.

He said: “We’ve acted on behalf of Sertec for a number of years and are very pleased to have been involved with its latest expansion programme.

“We look forward to a continued relationship as Sertec grows further.”

Sertec agreed a lease on the new facility at Hams Hall earlier this year. The 145,000sq ft building, situated just a mile from the automotive supplier’s Wincaster House head office – and less than two miles from Junction 9 of the M42 – is now the group’s central distribution centre for finished parts.

Dave Steggles, Sertec Group managing director, said: “Our growth in the business has necessitated the expansion of our factory footprint to increase manufacturing capacity.

“In converting our Gorsey Lane site to a stampings only facility, Pennycuick Collins has been an integral part of the team in managing the extension of our factory, just as it has on many occasions over the years across our group operations.”

A&H Construction, from Halesowen, has been appointed main contractor to construct the new raw material store.
